Virtual Learning Resources

Microsoft Teams is part of the Office 365 suite of applications all students have access to through York County School Division. This tool is used for hosting virtual classes during times of virtual learning.  While some of our Tigers are familiar with Teams and used last year, we also know that we have families new to Tabb Middle and others who may just need a refresher.

This page is designed to walk students and families through the process of setting up Teams and using the calendar to find and join class meetings. Please reach out to the school if you feel there is additional information that would help make this process smoother for students and families.

Getting started with microsoft teams

1  Set up a learning environment

To join an online class or video meeting in Teams and access Teams chats, files, and assignments from home, your student will need a computer, tablet or smartphone.

If possible, set up a space for learning, away from noise and distractions.

 2   Open Microsoft Teams

For students with a YCSD issued device, use the magnifying glass in the bottom left corner of the screen to search "Teams."  Click to launch the application.

On a personal computer, students can either open Teams through their Office 365 account, or download it directly from the Microsoft Teams website.

 3  Sign Into YCSD Account

When prompted, enter your YCSD email and password.

Student email is student id#@ystu.ycsd.york.va.us.  This is the same ID number and password used for logging into the school computer, Aspen and Canvas.
