We're excited to introduce a few more new members of the Yorktown Middle School family this year. Please join us in welcoming them to the Nest!
Ms. Lorentzen — Special Education (Co-Teaching Math)
Ms. Lorentzen comes to YMS after five years at Tabb Middle School and is starting her sixth year of teaching. Her favorite hobby is reading — especially at the beach or by the pool — and she has read over 300 books since 2023, across every genre! She's most excited to bring her special education expertise to a new community and connect with a new group of students.
Ms. Deciano — 6th Grade English
An Air Force kid, Ms. Deciano has lived in Texas, Maine, California, and Maryland. She loves 6th grade and is so glad to be back at this level after many years teaching other grades.
Mr. D'Alessandro — 7th Grade Special Education
After completing his undergraduate degree in Vermont, Mr. D'Alessandro moved to Key West, Florida to become a full-time sailing instructor before finding his path in education. He's most excited about developing new relationships with both colleagues and students.
Welcome to the Nest — we're so glad you're all here! Stay tuned as we continue to introduce more new staff.
