The Middle School Athletics Handbook provides important information about student participation in athletics in YCSD. Please note that students must be currently enrolled in 7th or 8th grade to fully participate on the team. 6th grade students may serve as team managers, but do not participate in games, cheer routines, or competitions.

Admission to Athletic Events
Tickets to athletic events are $5 for everyone middle school-aged and older. Tickets may be purchased with cash at the door or online in advance on GoFan.
VHSL Launches Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) Policy Digital Course
The Virginia High School League has teamed up with Bill Carter, a renowned consultant specializing in understanding the NIL and the founder of Student-Athlete Insights, to create the VHSL NIL Policy Digital Course found on the VHSL website under “About VHSL” and “Parents & Students.” This course is designed to assist students and their families comprehend the concept of Name, Image, and Likeness. It consists of eight video chapters and downloadable materials that take a total of 30 minutes to complete. Dr. John W. "Billy" Haun, Ed.D., Executive Director of VHSL, emphasizes that the VHSL’s top priority is to safeguard student-athletes. "The league is fortunate to collaborate with Bill Carter, the country's leading NIL specialist. The launch of this digital course curriculum is a valuable tool for students and parents to navigate this complex terrain," said Haun.
