The Media center at Yorktown Middle School serves over 750 patrons including students, faculty, and staff.  The hours of operation are:

8:00 AM to 2:50 PM, Monday - Friday.
 

The Media Center has over 12,000 books, an extensive audio visual collection, and a professional library.  The students have access to the Internet, electronic catalog, encyclopedias, and other databases via 18 computer work stations.  

Students normally come to the Media Center as part of their English classes, usually on a bi-weekly basis, during which time they may make book selections, conduct research, receive library skills instruction and technology training, and enjoy leisure reading. Teachers may allow students to visit the library anytime during the school day with a pass.
